Living the Dream

Something about summer time in San Diego that makes me crave beautiful out door spaces. I found the BEST outdoor furniture the other day.. Very "Viceroy" however it was NOT cheap. I'm going to have my eyes peeled for affordable options this summer.. Right now here are a few of my faves.

Sold!!!

Well, not quite.. I should say in escrow but that doesn't sound as fun now does it?! I can tell you that we are beyond thrilled, shocked, and of course a little nervous! I absolutely cannot wait to get in there and purdy it all up! I have TONS of new treasures and many DIY's to come. I promise to share the process with you along the way.

SO the summer is here, and all my show's are on VayKay.. Hmm why am I not on vacation?! Anyhow since I'm missing my Gossip Girl I thought I might as well blog about Good ole Serena's new room.

I do think it's pretty fab!

Palm Beach Decorating

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this is my favorite "style" of decorating. Something about the whimsy and the bright colors speaks to me. Hillary Thomas is having a tastemakers sale today on One Kings Lane, and ALL of the items are to DIE for.. prices aren't terrible either.

How to Decorate a Small Space

Having lived in a very small beach cottage the last few months, people commonly ask me how I've done it.. First I saw "Have you seen the view?", and then I tell them things like "It's actually been good for me." And what I mean by this is that, it has forced me to let some of my OCD go. You see when you live in a tiny place, things are not exactly the way you would like them to be... But it's all about making it work, and knowing really on a basic needs level it's all there. Now the fun stuff comes, making it beautiful!!

So I thought I would share some tips/ ideas for making a small space work

Make a bold statement with Wallpaper or Art

Use Large mirrors to create the illusion of a bigger space.

Make your space multi task! 

Hope this helps to the few of you that are challenged by minimal square footage! Remember ANY place can be beautiful!!!!!!! ANY

Fresh and So Clean

This time of year, I love nothing more than a soft neutral palette with pops of bright pillows and accessories. Oh who am I kidding it's my favorite all year long!!!!!

oh and speaking of pillows. Nordstrom rack has these Trina Turk Pillows right now 

 BTW in person the blue is much more of a peacock color less turquoise and the orange is a lot less red looking..

UGH

I decided we needed some pretty pics around here today, and since this is one of my favorite color combo's I figure why not... It has totally been one of those days.. First off I should start by saying that I've started a new job and while I am liking it.. its exhausting!!! Then my check engine light came on.. Which is always good when you have a Volvo and parts are 10X the price of a normal car... All of these things were quite ok with me because you see I had some silver lining... I had four faux bamboo chairs on hold that I was going to go pick up after work.. Guess what I got there and they sold them to some one else ... I was shocked! I talked to the store a few hours earlier told them that I would be by to pick them up and they said sure.. I even offered my card over the phone!!! Why oh why would they do that???

Anyhow I'm super disappointed to put it mildly and pissed off and slleeeeppyyy. Hope my husband feels like cooking tonight..  I can't believe my chairs are gone!
