To be perfectly honest I haven't been my normal silly self lately. I found out last week when I went home for Mother's Day that my grandfather had been put on hospice and been given 3-6 months to live. I've lost a set of grandparents and it was without a doubt the hardest thing I have ever dealt with. In that situation It was sudden and I went into a shock after words. Knowing that the end is near is a terrible and strange thing to know, and has been plagueing me all week. So I thought it only be appropriate I match the rooms to my temperament.

Chinoiserie

One of my new favorite looks is Chinoiserie. The wallpaper just blows my mind! I can't wait until I have a dining room to get this look into full effect. I love adding little touches of Chinoiserie into a home through faux bamboo, turquoise foo dogs, ornate gold pieces. and blue and white vases. Get Glam Would Ya!

The girly girl in me loves the super glam decor!! I have had my eye on a beautiful lucite chair for a while now! I'd love to get one for a vanity, and feel super glam while getting ready.

Kids Room Inspiration

I hope everyone had a Fabulous weekend with your mothers! It was great to be home and see my family and friends. While I was home I got a chance to visit my girlfriend who just had the most precious little baby last month, well let me tell you her nursery was absolutely adorable!! (will share pictures soon)

Anyway got me thinking of kids rooms! I've never designed one but I cant wait to! All the yummy colors and textures, I have about ten all designed out in my head. Now somebody have a baby so I can share them!! ;)

Gold Accents

Lately I have just been loving brass details. The pop that a great gold mirror, table, or lamp gives a room is just mesmerizing! Now if you asked me a year ago I probably would have said no thanks! Isn't it so funny how you can all of a sudden love something that before you could have passed on!

Happy Mothers Day!

So happy to be spending Mothers Day with my Mama!! She's such a loving, generous, kind soul who has been there for me every success and failure I've had in my life. I honestly don't know what I would do without her! Especially since I talk to her at least twice a day! I definitely got my love for decorating from my mother, I remember her sitting in bed with stack and stacks of decorating magazines and books... and now here I am :) I could go on and on for days about blessed and thankful I am!

I hope that all you mama's out there have a beautiful day and weekend! You deserve it!!! Be sure to tell to stop and take a moment to tell you mother how loved and appreciated she is!
