Escrow is officially closed and this was the first weekend we worked on the house. It was a pure demo weekend! A wall came down, yucky wallpaper border off, floors torn out, kitchen counter broken down, all base boards and door mouldings were torn off!! It was a noisy mess but it only means that beauty is on the way!!
First thing I need is HELP, So I am trying to pick two different shades of gray and a bluish gray. I am going to go with the fourth color over for the bluish gray but I cannot find a gray to save my life! I want something soft and airy for the bathroom and a little darker and saturated for the island.. Everything keeps turning out violet. Especially in my upstairs bathroom! It is driving me bonkers! Does anyone have any good recommendations for a gray that WILL NOT look violet?
hahah check out the previous owners window treatments!! YIKES!!
Yes this is real, Crowbar and all!
This week paint is going in as well as the new marble kitchen counter tops!
Please if you have any gray paint recommendations leave them in the comments below!

Benjamin Moore Palladian Blue
I had the same issue in my living room. Martha Stewart Nimbus Cloud is a great neutral grey. It turned out beautifully, not too violet. Hope this helps. ( =
What undertone are you looking for? Blue? Green? A classic grey or a greige? For greige I love Pashmina by Benjamin Moore (though "greige" core usually do have more l ended undertones). Iced silver by BM is a very subtle nice grey with a bluish tone.Chelsea grey (also BM) is a beautiful greenish toned medium grey. Farrow and ball Claydon Blue is a rich dark blue-green grey with lots of depth and thier downpipe is a lovely intimate charcoal, like a lead color. (I just finished helping a friend paint her home various shades of grey, so we tested a ton and those were my favorites across the spectrum.)
Ugg, just went through the great grey conundrum as well. We tried over 10 grey samples and finally picked Ben Moore's Stonington Grey. IMO, it's a very blueish grey. I also saw this one on pinterest today, Revere Pewter. Looks pretty neutral.

HA! I just posted about this same exact problem on my blog....its SO hard to find the right gray, isn't it? here are some recommendations:
"Woodsmoke" by Gliddens
"Empire State" by Dutch Boy
"Stonington" by Benjamin Moore
"Wolf" by Pratt & Lambert
Hope this helps!
Ben Moore Revere Pewter. It's more of a warm gray.
Looks good can't wait to see the finished look!
I had the same issues deciding on a gray for my stripes in our breakfast nook .. I ended up custom matching a gray sample so do not have the name of it .. What was really helpful for me was just taking a bunch of gray sample squares that they have at the paint store and taping them up on the walls .. they're free so you can get a bunch of them instead of having to pay for the paint sample each time!
