Weekend Warrior- bench re-do

I got this great little bench at one of my favorite antique stores for only $8! I really loved it especially for the price! The fabric was actually very cute although it was old, dirty, and really didn't match my room... So I decided to re do that baby.

So the first thing I did was take the pink fabric off by removing staples and seam ripping. Once all the seams were ripped I used the original piece of fabric as my pattern, I cut around it and simply sewed where they had. Then pulled the buttons through the middle to create the tufted look.

Lastly you want to pull pretty tight and then staple the bottom of the fabric to the wood so that it will appear snug.

Here's the final product! I'm pretty happy with it. Matches my room much better and it was fairly simple to do (besides the tufting that is)

Total cost:

Fabric from Joannes $6.99 a yard on sale (thick upholstery)
Buttons from Joannes 50% off 2.25 for all four! Total cost just under $10!

So pretty! I would love to try something like this, just need to find a great chair/bench. Hope it's as easy as you've made it look.
